Pets Needing a Home

Belle

Female Dog (spayed)

Contact: Kim Terrell

Phone: 229-869-2966

This is sweet southern Belle, an American Bulldog who wandered onto the property of a local veterinarian. He was unable to keep her so he turned her over to us to find her a home. She is around 2-3 years old and weighs around 50-60 pounds. Belle was in pretty bad shape when she first arrived. It was obvious someone had mistreated her-she had multiple wounds, including a blunt trauma to one of her eyes, which was missing. Despite all of this, Belle is nothing short of a "love bug", a true testament to how loyal dogs are to people. She is extremely friendly and just loves to be in your presence-she knows that she was rescued and wants to show you her appreciation every chance she gets. She has perfect sight out of her remaining eye and it doesn't seem to affect her at all and she lives a perfectly normal life. She is pretty laid back and calm and she likes children. Because of her background, she prefers to be an only dog (we do not know about cats). Belle will only be adopted as a mostly indoor dog. She is housebroken, current on vaccinations, spayed and on heartworm prevention. Now she deserves her fairy tale ending.

Caroline

Female Dog (spayed)

Contact: Kim Terrell

Phone: 229-869-2966

Caroline is a pure bred pointer who was given up by a guy who did not want her anymore because she is gun shy. Caroline is 2-3 years old and weighs around 40-45 pounds. Even though Caroline is not cut out to be a true "hunting dog", she does remain true to her roots and does point and flush. She is a sweet, outgoing fun loving girl with a great personality. Caroline would be a wonderful pet for someone looking for a more active dog-she loves to run and play. She is good with most other dogs and she likes kids (cats maybe too tempting for her). Caroline is spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. If you would like to give this gorgeous girl a home.

Pooh is 1-2 years old and weighs around 50-60 pounds. Pooh is a sweetheart but a little weary of men at first (he adores all women)-he warms up to men in time, they just have to be a little patient with him and earn his trust. Pooh is wonderful with other dogs and he likes children (he is untested with cats). Scarlet is a pure bred chocolate pit bull around 4 years old and weighs around 45 pounds. Scarlet was one of numerous dogs that was found at a rural dumpster although she was not a part of the big family pack we rescued-we guess she was left out there by someone else. Poor Scarlet was in pretty bad shape when she was taken in by her foster home. She was nearly starved to death, dehydrated and had numerous cuts and scrapes. It was evident that someone had mistreated her. With time and TLC, Scarlet is now healthy and ready to be adopted. Despite her past, Scarlet is a loving soul; it is truly amazing what pets like her can over come. She is very friendly and loving to all people, she only wants to please you and be with you and is happy and obedient to all. Scarlet is not good with other dogs and should be an only dog. She will only be adopted as a mostly indoor pet. She is spayed, housebroken, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Scarlet will be a fantastic, loyal friend for some lucky home.

Lena

Female Dog (spayed)

Contact: Kim Terrell

Phone: 229-869-2966

This is Lena-she looks like a cross between a shepherd and a husky (really, she is just one big ball of fluffy fur!) She is around a year old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. Her background is sadly pretty common in rural southwest Georgia; she was abandonded a dumpster in the country. One of our foster homes had been going by that dumpster for quite some time to feed stray dogs that had been left there. Every time she went by, more dogs and puppies would slowly come out of hiding. Eventually, she earned their trust enough to take them all to the veterinarian for vaccinations and medical attention and she had all of them spayed or neutered . They are now in her care. Because this group was raised around other dogs and did not know human contact for so long, they are quite shy around people. They love their foster mom so it proves that with time, understanding and patience, they can learn to trust and be pets. They are great with each other and are good with other dogs (untested with cats). In the right home, any of these dogs could really thrive. Dogs like these bond very deeply with their owner-it is almost like they know they have been given a second chance and they want to show you how much they appreciate you.
